Donji Kraljevec is located some 20 km east of Čakovec. Population is about 5,300, some 1,600 in the town of the same name.

The flag of Donji Kraljevec is prescribed by Decision Odluka o zastavi Općine Donji Kraljevec, adopted on 9 December 2004 by the Municipality Assembly and published in 2004 in the County official gazette Službeni glasnik Međimurske županije.
The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.
The flag is in proportions 1:2, white with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

Coat of arms of Donji Kraljevec - Image by Željko Heimer, 7 May 2005
The coat of arms of Donji Kraljevec is prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu Općine Donji Kraljevec, adopted on 19 November 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 23 November 2009 in Službeni glasnik Međimurske županije, No. 20 (text).
This supersedes Decision Odluka o grbu Općine Donji Kraljevec, adopted on 9 December 2004 by the Municipality Assembly and published in 2004 in Službeni glasnik Međimurske županije.
The new Decision is virtually the same with minor adjustments in
administrative terminology. There is a minor change in the blazon: the horse is described as "a little horse sable rampant" while the 2004 text described it as "a horse sable rampant to dexter". I guess that this change was the result of the blazon provided by the Ministry of Administration when approving the design.
The coat of arms is "Argent a horse sable rampant and in a chief vert a crown or".
The arms are canting, since the name of the municipality means be something like "King's Town".

The ceremonial flag is a green gonfalon ending triangularly with a golden fringe with the coat of arms in the middle, the name of the municipality above and an oak branch and a sheaf of wheat below it.
