Overview

Adopted: ca. 22 July 1996. Design: Francesca Danese-Katic, dipl. ing. arh., Korcula.
Fortifications of the old city of Korcula are shown in symbolic way on the arms, and on the entrance there is city patron St. Mark.

In a tourist website (located by Ron Lahav) there is the historical seal of the city. Unfortunately, no hint on the date of this seal, which I estimate to be from the 14th cnetury.
No doubt that this seal served as the basis of the adoption of the modern coat of arma in the 1990's .
