Presentation of Lasinja

The municipality of Lasinja is located some 15 km north-east of Karlovac, counting just under 2,000 inhabitants, with nearly 600 in the main village of the same name. It occupies the right bank of river Kupa (and therefore a number of villages have the attribute "right" - Desno Sredičko, Desni Štefanki..., while many other villages have the attribute "Lasinjski", "of Lasinja"). Until 1997 it was administratively part of the Sisak-Moslavina County.

Flag of Lasinja

The symbols of Lasinja are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu, zastavi i svečanoj zastavi općine Lasinja, adopted by the Municipality Assembly on 13 March 1998 and published in the County official gazette Glasnik Karlovačke županije, No. 15.
The subsequent Decision Odluka o izmjenama i dopunama Odluke grbu, zastavi i svečanoj zastavi općine Lasinja, adopted by the Municipality Assembly on 8 June 2006 and published in the same gazette, amends the original Decision in a minor procedure detail.
The Ministry of Administration approved the symbols on 19 May 1998.
Article 7 of the current Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Lasinja (text), adopted by the Municipality Assembly on 29 June 2009 and published in Glasnik općine Lasinja, includes the description of the coat of arms, the flag and the ceremonial flag.

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, dark blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms of Lasinja is "Azure a swallow volant proper and in base a bar wavy argent". The swallow is canting the name of the municipality. The wavy bar means the richness in water resources, especially river Kupa.

Ceremonial flag of Lasinja

The ceremonial flag (photo) is light blue, apparently in the usual shape of triangularly ending three-tailed gonfalon with the coat of arms in the centre of it. The ornaments in the tails are not clearly visible (possibly, wheat), nor is the inscribed name of the municipality, which is probably also there above. behind him.
The description of the flag in the Municipality Statutes is particularly vague, stating only that it has "edge ribbons" and "a yellow-golden fringe".
