Flag of Ogulin

The symbols of Ogulin are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Grada Ogulina, adopted on 19 July 1995 by the Town Assembly and published in the County official gazette Glasnik Županije Karlovačke, no. 11.
The current Town Statutes Status Grada Ogulina, adopted on 17 July 2009 by the Town Assembly and published in Glasnik Karlovačke županije, include the same reference to the 1995 Decision as the previous Statutes Statut Grada Ogulina (pročišćeni tekst), adopted on 23 March 2006 by the Town Assembly and published in Glasnik Karlovačke županije, No. 10; however, a reference was added to a Decision published in 2002 in Glasnik Karlovačke županije, No. 8, which presumably amends the 1995 Decision with some minor and non-design-related changes.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, red with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms of Ogulin is "Gules, two bars argent, In chief a mullet or, in base a Latin cross or."
The star originates from the coat of arms of the Frankopan family, owners of the local fort among other their possessions.

The flag that is apparently used is different from the description of the ceremonial flag given in the afotementioned Decision, which reads: "Red flag with the coat of arms of the Town of Ogulin in canton. To the right of the coat of arms is a silver fort with two symmetrical towers. To the left and right of the fort are the images of golden oak and linden branches. Above the fort is the silver silhouette of Klek. The inscription 'Grad Ogulin' in golden letters is above the Klek silhouette. The flag is fringed with gold."

The star originates from the coat of arms of the Frankopan family, owners of the local fort among other their possessions. Mount Klek is certainly a characteristic silhouette for the region, while oak and linden are important elements of the old Croatian symbolic, even from pre-Christian era.

Flag of the Ogulin Manufacturers' Association (1908)

The flag of the Ogulin Manufacturers' Association (photo) is shown on the town website. As it is obvious from the inscription, it is from year 1908; the caption says that this is the original flag of the association.
