Krapinske Toplice is a community in the Krapina-Zagorje
County, just under 6,000 inhabitants, about 1,300 in the town of
the same name itself. It is situated some 30 km north of Zagreb, about 5 km south (west) of Krapina. As the name 'Toplice' already
suggests it is the site of thermal spa, one of the most reknown
in Croatia. Traditionally it is also a site for the cardial
hospital, oen which is considered today amongst the leading in
the wider region. These characteristics shall be reflected in the
previous Coat of Arms.

It appears that the community changed its symbols, probably
because the previous set was not approved by
the Ministry - as I stated before, the old design was, at least,
on the very edge of what the Ministry commission might consider
heraldically appropriate, and obviously, it was on the wrong side
of that border. Tomsilav ipek photographed the new
flag in the center of the town on 18.09.2007, according to which
photos I prepared my drawings.
The coat of arms of Krapinske Toplice is: vert a wooden vat
proper pouring water conjoining the base wavy azure. (I was
wandering if there is any actual link with similar idea in the
old (and new) coat of arms of Rijeka,
but as far as I know there is none - except that - if this was
designed by Mladen Stojic of Heraldic-art - then the link is he
himself, as the company is from Rijeka - but, from what I know,
there is no intentional connection of Krapinske Toplice and
Rijeka). The flag is blue with the coat of arms in the middle.
For the time being, I have no info on possible ceremonial
flag.

Previous Coat of Arms

The coat of arms is in a red bordered silver shield a blue
"fountain-heart". The flag is blue with the coat of
arms in the middle. The coat of arms image is based on the coat of
arms shown in tourist magazine "Turist plus", 2003
(thanks to Tomislav ipek). The flag is seen in use on the
community hall by both me and Tomislav. That the flag is used
probably means that the Ministry approved the coat of arms. If
so, I suppose that this particular design would be on the very
edge of the graphical principles taken up by the Ministry
Commission.
