Gračišće (Italian, Gallignana) is located about 10 km east of Pula. It has just under 1,500 inhabitants, about 1/3 of them living in the town of the same name.
The town, built on the top of a hill, is a typical Istrian medieval town, with the status of protected monument as a whole.
Željko Heimer, 4 November 2007
The symbols of Gračišće were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.
The flag is in proportions 1:2, red with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

Coat of arms of Gračišće - Image by Željko Heimer, 4 November 2007
The coat of arms is "Argent on a base vert a church with a belfry gules".
It must be based on some historical design, otherwise the central state authorities would probably not have approved such a design with yet another church.
Željko Heimer, 4 November 2007
The ceremonial flag (photo) is a red gonfalon with three triangularly ending tails. Only one tail is visible, containing an ornament of grapevine branches.
