Pakrac is a town of about 16,500 inhabitants, half of them living in the settlement of the same name and others in the surrounding villages under the same administration. It is located some 40 km west of Požega on the traditional westernmost border of Slavonia. In the 1992/93 reform Pakrac was given the Municipality status, which was upgraded to Town status in 1997.

The symbols of Pakrac are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Grada Pakraca, adopted in 1996 by the (then) Municipality Assembly and published in the Municipality official gazette Službeni glasnik Općine Pakrac, No. 3.
The flag is in proportions 1:2, blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

Coat of arms of Pakrac - Image by Željko Heimer, 30 November 2009
The coat of arms (municipal website) is "Azure between two bars wavy argent a marten passant proper".
This is one of the latest granted arms in the region in 1932; later on the coats of arms were adopted locally. It is obviously based on the historical coat of arms of Slavonia.
