Presentation of Jelenje

Jelenje is a municipality located about 10 km north of Rijeka, upstream on river Riječina ("River of Rijeka") some 500 m above the sea level.

Flag of Jelenje

The symbols of Jelenje are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Općine Jelenje, adopted on 23 May 1995 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 2 June 1995 in the County official gazette Službene novine Županije primorsko-goranske, No. 11.

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka, and approved by the Ministry of Administration / Central State Office for Administration before 2006.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, white with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Vert a deer salient or and in base a bar wavy argent".
The arms are canting, jelen meaning "deer" in Croatian.
