The municipality of Hrvatska Dubica is located on river Una, about 40 km south-east of Sisak. On the other bank of Una, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is the rather bigger town of Bosanska Dubica.

The coat of arms of Hrvatska Dubica is "Gules six acorns slipped or, three, two and one".
Acorns are obviously canting for Dubica - the root of the name means "oak". There are six settlements forming the municipality, so six acorns.
