The municipality of Martinska Ves is located just north of Sisak. It counts 4,000 inhabitants, most in the village of Strelečko (about 500); the seat of the municipality administration is in the village of Desna Martinska Ves, with just under 400 inhabitants.

The symbols of Martinska Ves are prescribed by Decision Odluka o utvrdivanju grba i zastave Općine Martinska Ves, published on 3 November 1994 in the County official gazette Slućbeni glasnik Sisačko-moslavačke županije, No. 15.
The symbols were approved by the Ministry of Administration on 27 OCtober 1998.
The symbols were most probably not approved by the Central State Office for Administration.
The flag (photo) is white with an offset cross formed of a blue lenghtwise stripe and a red crossbar with the coat of arms in the middle of it. In the red fields there is a golden oak branch.
