Sveti Ilija is some 20-ish km south of Varadin with some
3,600 inhabitants (1993), in a hilly vine producing region, and
this is reflected in the symbols. The county web site <www.varazdinska-zupanija.hr>
showes the Coat of Arms: quartered, first and fourth gules a
bunch of grapes vert slipped sable, second and third vert a fess
wavy argent, overall a thunderbolt in pale and two arms grasping
hands proper issunat from flanks clead argent. The flag is white
with the coat of arms in the middle.

The flag of Sveti Ilija displayed in the Varadin County
assembly hall is a tricolour if blue over yellow over green with
the coat of arms in the middle.
The coat of arms is slightly differently coloured then the one
shown on the Varadin County site (and according to which I
prepared my image previously), but that may only be to the
adaptation of the depiction for the flag material.
Previously I reported the white flag with the coat of arms of
Sveti Ilija. Unfortunately, I have no record now how I cam to
this information. It must have been due to some report we
received on the list or I got from some visitor.

There is an image of the flag bearing historical coat of arms,
presented on municipal
website.

I saw this one recently and I contacted the webmaster trying
to get more info, but no luck so far. It is not clear what this
is, if it is a flag at all, weather it is a historical flag, a
rejected proposal or what. The flag is certainly not from 1247.
