The coat of arms is "Azure a bar gemel or and overall a crozier argent in pale". It is most frequently seen in the "ceremonial" version, ornamented with an olive and a vine branch. This may indicate that there is also a ceremonial flag in similar design.
The place is named for its patrons saints, Sts. Philip and James. The crozier stands for their pastoral work, while the double bar symbolically stands for the two saints.
