The logo includes this flag-like wavy drawing. (In my source, the logo appears always without border. This image according web source.)

Variant?

[Another house flag of TMM]

My impression is that the "vee" comprising the letters "m" are rounded only on the left side.
Al Fisher, 11 Feb 1999

My impression is that it's probably an effect of perspective.

Compañía Mexicana de Petróleo "El Águila" (Mexican Oil Company)

[House flag of CMPA]
by Ivan Sache, March 24, 2001

Znamierowski [zna00] shows p. 244 a plate of house flags of North and South American shipping companies, dated 1933. The original source is 'Lloyd Reederei-Flaggen der Welt-Handelsflotte' [Lloyd Houseflags of the World Merchant Fleet], Bremen (Germany). The caption of the original plate says 'Lloyd Zigaretten + Bildersammlung: Reedereiflaggen', so the 'book' is an album for cigarette cards. I remember having seen a copy of this album to be sold for more than 150 USD.

Below is the description of the nine house flags from the plate shown in Znamierowski. The comments about each company are my translation from the German text below each image in the original source. The unit for the tonnage is 'Regt. brutto', but I don't know what it could mean :-

"#372. 'El Aquila' Compania Mexicana de Petroleo - Mexico-City Diagonally divided green-red flag with CM (in black) in the green triangle and PA (in black) in the red one. Shipping lines: Mexico - Central America Steam tankers: 8; Tanker tugboats: 4 Tonnage: ca 4,850 Regt. brutto (...) "
