Municipality

The municipality of Dona Francisca (10,500 ha) is located 175 km of Porto Alegre.

Their daughter, Anália, served as the first school teacher.
The Pallottines, a congregation founded in 1835 in Rome by St. Vincent Pallotti (1795-1850; canonized on 20 January 1963 by Pope John XXIII), established in 1934 in Dona Francisca their first branch in South America.
The municipality of Dona Francisca was established by State Law No. 4,993 promulgated on 17 July 1965.
