The flag of the Federal University of Santa Catarina in Brazil is seen on the university web page. It consists of a blue field, a central yellow disk and blue-line symbol on that.

The flag of the UFSC was created in 1971 by the artist Hiedy de Assis Corrêa; it consists of two “U”s graphically played, joined. The designer describes it as “a center of life energy, where its continuous lines cross the same ideal, from there is a bridge for human relationships, the open university, conscience, community and development”. The colors follow the field of the arms of the UFSC, blue and yellow: the rectangular blue area symbolizes the Universe, while the yellow circumference symbolizes the Sun, the center of energy, the university campus.
