The Flag

On September, 14, 2004, the President of Republic of Belarus by decree number 446 has ratified coat of arms and flag of the Region of Brest. The flag proportions of width to length as 1:2 The flag repeats figure of coat of arms of the Region of Brest. On blue flag a yellow zoubre (Bison bonasus) on a red stylized tower is represented.

The description is mostly of the Coat of Arms of Brest oblast. The flag is briefly described as a "red and light blue rectangle with a golden bison in the center of the red part".

Red and light blue looks certainly very much like the former RSFSR flag.
