Description of the flag

A blue flag, with the town logo centered. The logo is a red maple leaf, with the town seal inside - in addition to the lettering "Town of Innisfail Alberta" a stylized I in red, a sunrise (or rather sunset as the Rockies are in the west) with a view of three mountains.

From the town website:

The name `Innisfail' goes back to celtic origin. It means "Isle of Destiny". It was actually the Canadian Pacific Railway that gave Innisfail its name. Before that, wagon and cart drivers called the area `Poplar Grove'.
