Meckenbeuren Coat of Arms

The shield is divided per pale into silver (= white) and red. The dexter side displays a red gonfanon. The sinister side displays a silver (= white), rampant greyhound.
Meaning:
The gonfanon is taken from the arms of the Counts of Montfort, which owned large real estates in the municipal area, especially from 1530 until 1780 they had been local rulers in the core of Meckenbeuren proper. The greyhound is taken from the arms of the Humpiß family, they had been patricians in Ravensburg. They were owners of the Lordship of Brochenzell from 1447 until the 18th century.

The coat of arms was approved on 26 September 1938 by Reichsstatthalter of Württemberg.
