Description of banner:
It is a green - white - green vertical triband with ratio 1:3:1. The coat of arms is shifted to the top.

Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a green field is a golden(=yellow), facetted 8-point star topped by a horizontal blade of a scythe of the same colour. The shield has a silver(=white) base containing a red horizontal key.
Meaning:
According to source blade and green colour are symbolizing agriculture, the star is symbolizing salt works and spa bathing. The key is adapted from the arms of the city of Soest.

The banner was approved by Regierungspräsident Arnsberg on 23 November 1971, the coat of arms on 11 June 1970.
