Overview

Viljandi's flag is a simple light blue over white. I don't know the significance of the colours (if any), but they are probably derived from the coat of arms. The arms are a white (and golden) flower on a blue field.
Viljandi is a town (24,000 inhabitants) in Estonia, 160 km south of the capital Tallinn. The town is the administrative capital of the county with the same name as the town.
Jan Oskar Engene, 14 May 1996

Adopted: 20 May 1992. Proportions: 1:2.

From <www.rk.ee>: Coat of arms with rose is from middle ages (first image from 1432).

The coat of arms of the town of Viljandi is shown on a postage stamp released in 2007 (YT 554; face value, 5,50 K [0,35 €]; perforated 14).
