Presentation of Merindad de Valdeporres

The municipality of Merindad de Valdeporres (427 inhabitants in 2016; 12,017 ha; municipal website) is located 90 km north of Burgos, on the border with Cantabria. The municipality is formed of the 14 village of Ahedo de las Pueblas, Brizuela (28 inh.), Busnela (deserted), Cidad de Valdeporres (capital), Dosante, Leva (10 inh.), Puentedey (47 inh.), Quitanabaldo, Robeldo de las Pueblas, Rozas de Valdeporres, San Martín de las Ollas (28 inh.), San Martín de Porres (13 inh.), Santelices, and Villavés (24 inh.).

The flag and arms of Rozas de Valdeporres are prescribed by an Agreement adopted on 30 October 2015 by the Village Council, signed the same day by the Village Mayor and published on 2 February 2016 in the official gazette of Castilla y Le—n, No. 21, pp. 5,742-5,743 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 2:3, made of two equal vertical stripes, yellow at hoist and blue at fly. The flag has a red border in width 1/10 of the flag's width. In the center is placed the coat of arms, in width 50% of the flag's width.
Coat of arms: Checky of 15 pieces, eight or and seven vair. A bordure gules eight saltires or. The shield surmounted by a Royal Spanish crown.
