Presentation of Moral de Sayago

The municipality of Moral de Sayago (317 inhabitants in 2010; 6,704 ha) is located in the southwest of the Province. The village of Abelón was transferred in 1984 from Pereruela to Moral de Sayago.

Symbols of Moral de Sayago

The flag and arms of Moral de Sayago are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 17 December 1999 by the Municipal Council, signed on 21 December 1999 by the Mayor, and published on 18 January 2000 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 11, p. 733 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular flag, with proportions 2:3, made of two vertical stripes with proportions 1:4 and 3:4, the stripe at hoist made of ten squares, five red and five white in two columns, the stripe at fly made of three blue and two white equal horizontal stripes.
Coat of arms: Gules a holly oak argent on rocks of the same, in base waves argent and azure. The shield surmounted with a Royal crown closed.

The symbols were validated "without inconvenient" by the Royal Academy of History.
