All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club

Watching the Wimbledon men's final on TV just now, they showed a shot of what was probably the flag of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, the hosts of the tournament: five equal horizontal stripes of purple-green-purple-green-purple. I don't think this has been reported before.

In "Lawn Tennis and Badminton", dated 26 December 1936:

The Lawn Tennis Association's Flag.
The new LTA flag, based on the arms of the Lawn Tennis Association. The Rose, Thistle and Daffodil - the floral emblems of England, Scotland and Wales are imposed on a blue field, or in heraldic language "a bordure checky argent and sable," with a checquered edging of black and white.

The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) is the national governing body of tennis in Great Britain, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. It was established on January 26, 1888. Before 1985 the LTA was run by an amateur committee. In that year it appointed its first professional chief executive, with a remit to improve the standard of British tennis. Since that time, it has been through several chief executives, each of whom has changed the top team, and relaunched the coaching programme, in each case to date without any significant success.
