Presentation of Lovinac

The municipality of Lovinac (1,096 inhabitants in 2001, 288 in the village of Lovinac) is located about 30 km south- east of Gospić. However, with the passage of the new highway built in the first years of the third millenium with the Sveti Rok tunnel passing through the Velebit mountains towards the sea, the municipality received a new vigorous life. The commercial use of the natural spring waters from Sveti Rok gave an other important boost to the development of the region.
