Presentation of Vojnić

The municipality of Vojnić (5,495 inhabitants in 2001; 1,156 in the village of Vojnić) is situated 20 km south-east of Karlovac. Until 1997 it was part of the Sisak-Moslavina County.

Flag of Vojnić

The symbols of Vojnić are prescribed in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Vojnić, adopted on 28 July 2003 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 4 August 2003 in the County official gazette Glasnik Karlovačke županije, No. 24.
The symbols were approved on 12 July 2000 by the central authorities.

The symbols are described in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Vojnić, adopted on 13 July 2005 and published on 21 July 2005 in Glasnik Karlovačke županije, No. 28, in the consolidated Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Vojnić (pročišćeni tekst), adopted on 23 October 2007 and published on 25 October 2007 in Glasnik Karlovačke županije, No. 35, in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Vojnić, adopted on 27 July 2009 and published on 3 August 2009 in Glasnik Karlovačke županije, No. 27, and in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Vojnić, adopted on 1 December 2009 and published on 4 December 2009 in Glasnik Karlovačke županije, No. 48, and in the current Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Vojnić, adopted on 11 September 2013 and published on 24 September 2013 in Glasnik Karlovačke županije, No. 37 (text).

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company from Rijeka.

The flag is described in Article 3 of the Statutes as follows:

The flag of the Municipality is a flag with proportions 1:2, blue with the coat of arms of the Municipality in the middle.

The coat of arms is described in Article 3 of the Statutes as follows:

The coat of arms of the Municipality is a shield, on golden/yellow a black boar's head turned to the right.

The ceremonial flag (photos, photo, photo, photo) is a blue gonfalon with a triangular end with fringe, above the coat of arms is golden inscription of the municipality name in two arches, below two oak branches.

Former symbols of Vojnić (1999-2003)

The first symbols of Vojnić are prescribed by Decision Odluka o utvrđivanju grba i zastave Općine, adopted on 29 April 1999 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 30 April 1999 in Glasnik Karlovačke županije, No. 8.
The last article of the Decision proclaims this Decision to be a proposal only, until the approval of the Ministry of Administration is obtained, which never happened, eventually.

The flag is described in Article 3 of the Decision as follows:

The flag of the Municipality of Vojnić is in size 300 cm x 150 cm, light blue with the coat of arms of the Municipality in the middle, in size 110 cm in height and 65 cm in width.

The coat of arms is described in Articles 1 and 2 of the Decision as follows:

The coat of arms of the Municipality of Vojnić is composed of a shield and its contents of four elements:
1. The crown of Croatian kings - symbol of the last Croatian King Peter Svačić, who died in 1097 in the Battle of Petrova Gora.
2. A saw - symbol of richness and logging in the Municipality area.
3. A mill wheel - symbol of mills on rivers Radonja and Glinica.
4. Rivers Radonja and Glinica, passing through the Municipality of Vojnić.

The elements of the coat of arms are coloured red, white, blue, golden and silver.
