Flag of Zdenci

The symbols of Zdenci are described in the Municipality Statutes Statut Opčine Zdenci, adopted in 16 June 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published in the Municipality official gazette Službeni glasnik Opčine Zdenci.

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka, and approved by the Ministry of Administration / Central State Office for Administration before 2006. They were unveiled on 29 September 1996, during the celebration of St. Michale Day, the Municipality Day. The symbols were presented by Dr. Ivan Balta (Predstavljeno novo općinsko znakovlje, Virovitič:ki list, 4 October 1996).

The flag is in proportions 1:2, white with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

Coat of arms of Zdenci

The coat of arms is "Azure six springs argent".
Article 5 of the Statutes claims that this is the historical coat of arms of Zdenci, although I am quite convinced that this is not true. The coat of arms is described as a "toponomastic figure" of Zdenci, zdenci meaning "wells", "sources" (plural form). The number of sprinkles is determined to six.

The former symbols of Zdenci are presented in the book Zdenci, Općinsko vijeće i poglavarstvo općine, edited in 1995 by Dr. Ivan Balta.
The flag was white with the coat of arms in the centre. White stands for concord and unity.
The coat of arms is "Vert a stream curving out from a jar in a fence argent in canton a bend sinister argent the base gules a pair of scales argent". The stream must represents the name of the municipality, which means "a spring", "a source", while the scales are the attribute of St. Machael, the municipality's patron saint.
