The town emblem and the flag were adopted on Nov 3rd 1975 by Notice No 27. The yellow flag has a blue town emblem with a white fimbriation in the center. The town emblem is a stylized katakana フクシマ Fukushima in a form of a herring fishing ship. The emblem depicts the land form and Seikan Tunnel work base. It represents the town people’s concord and the town’s future. The yellow color stands for the sun, the blue color for the sea and sky and the white color for the north land’s nature.
The flag proportion is 2: 3. The diameter of the emblem is 9/14 height of the flag.

Hakodate City / 函館市

The city emblem was adopted on Jul 13th 1935 by Notice No 130 and the flag was adopted on Jun 11th 1968 by Notice No 40. The blue flag has a white city emblem inside of a white and a red 5 pointed star. The city emblem is a swirl. The city has a seaport in a form of a swirl. The blue color stands for a sky and sea, the white color for a powerful surge and the red color for the citizens eagerness and the history. The flag proportion is 2:3.

The city emblem was adopted on Feb 1st 2006 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a blue, a geen and a yellow three color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized kanji 北 Hoku and H. The blue color stands for the former Ueiso Town, the green color for the former Ono town and the yellow color for two town’s dynamic unity.

The town emblem is a stylized kanji 木古内 Kikonai in a form of a tortoiseshell. It represents the town people’s cooperation and the town’s peace and the eternal development.

The town emblem was adopted in Jul 1954 but there is no flag law. The maroon flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem depicts pine needles(Matsu) in a circle form. It represents the strength to overcome trials. The center swirl symbolizes a concord and a cooperation. The maroon color made by mixture of a color of the earth black and a color of the passion red represents Hokkaido frontier spirit.

The town emblem was adopted on Sep 29th 2005 by Ordinance No 205 and the flag was adopted on Nov 10th 2005 by Notice No 49. The white flag has a green and a blue two color town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized kanji 森 Mori. The blue color stands for sea waves and the green color for trees. It represents an ideal world made by natural rhythm and the people’s saltation.
The flag proportion is 2: 3. The height of the emblem is 13/20 height of the flag. The length of the emblem is 13/25 length of the flag.

The town emblem was adopted on Aug 29th 1973 by Notice No 29 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a red town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized kanji 長 Osha of Oshamanbe. The circle symbolizes the town people’s solidarity and Uchiura Bay and the center horizontal bar does a sincerity,a friendship and the town’s surge.

The town emblem was adopted on Jan 4th 1920 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a blue and a red town emblem in the center. The town emblem is four (Shi) stylized katakana カ Ka of shiKabe. The emblem depicts a deer horn, kelps and hotspring in the center. It represents the town people’s concord and a wish for the town’s development.

The town emblem was adopted on Oct 1st 1967 but there is no flag law. The blue flag has a green and a white two color town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized S of Shiriuchi. The white color stands for Shiriuchi River and the green color for the fertile plain. It represents a peace and a solidarity.
