The city emblem was adopted on Jul 4th 2004 by Notice No 106 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a white, a blue , a green three color city emblem  in the center. The city emblem is a stylized Y of Yabu in a form of a river. The triangle symbolizes the highest peak in Hyogo Prefecture Mt. Hyonosen, the facing two lines do streams of Oya River and Yagi River. It represents an image of the central home land which unites and cooperates with great  outdoors.
