The city emblem was adopted on Apr 1st 2005 by Notice No 1 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a green, a blue and an orange three color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is stylized AWA. The letter A stands for rich green trees and Asan Mountains, the letter W for a fresh stream of Yoshino River, the orange color for the people, the flowers and the sunrise. The green color symbolizes a comfort, a security, the blue color does a feeling of trust, a cleanliness and the orange color does the dream and the hope. It represents an image of the new city making a leap forward to the future.
