In 1598, he succeeded to the family and became the lord of Kuno Castle in Omi Province, and After 1600, he was given 50,000 goku in Mutsu Province for his activities in the Battle of Sekigahara and the Osaka Summer Campaign. The war banner has black background with two crossed gold stripes. It symbolizes the protection of a castle or house in the form of crossed building materials. The general’s standard (Umajirushi in japanese) has black background with two crossed gold stripes in square shape.

Katou Yoshiaki

Served under Toyotomi Hideyoshi and commanded naval forces. He became the lord of Matsuyama Castle in Iyo Province. In the Battle of Sekigahara, he served on the Tokugawa side and was given 400,000 provinces in Aizu-Wakamatsu. The war banner has white background with a black brush ten letter. There is no record that he was a Christian Daimyo.

He succeeded to 47,000 goku of Tsugaru Province upon his father's death in 1607, and consolidated his position by taking Tokugawa Ieyasu's adopted daughter as his wife in 1611. The war banner has white background with two red swastikas. The general's standard has white background with a gold circle.

Nanbu Toshinao

1576-1632

Toshinao Nanbu was the first lord of Morioka, Mutsu Province, with 100,000 goku. After the death of Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1598, he became close to Tokugawa Ieyasu and sided with the Eastern Army in the Battle of Sekigahara, and joined the Eastern Army in the Osaka Winter Campaign of 1614. The war banner has a white round crane on a sky blue background.
