Sośnicowice - urban-rural commune, Gliwice County, Śląskie Voivodship - German name: Kieferstädtel.
Gmina Sośnicowice is an urban-rural gmina (commune) in Gliwice County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. Its seat is the town of Sośnicowice, which lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) west of Gliwice and 34 km (21 mi) west of the regional capital Katowice.
Area: 116.24 sq.km (44.9 sq.mi); Population: 8,249 (2006).

First mention in 1305. Established, probably, by Prince of Opole - Władysław. In 1683, King Jan III Sobieski stopped there on the way to rescue Vienna. In May 1921, during the III Silesian Uprising, taken for Poland by the 3rd Batallion of Jan Woźniczek.

Arms and flag adopted on February 19, 2003 (resolution # V/32/2003).
"Arms: on a silver shield an image of the fir tree with roots in the natural colors.
Flag: yellow over blue with the Arms in the center."
