It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow field.

Coat of arms

Shield Vert, a pair of crossed keys, the bendy one Argent and the sinister bendy one Or, tied Or, in base a flax blossom Argent, seeded and garnished Azure. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "ADÃES".
Meaning:
The pair of keys is an attribute of St. Peter, the local patron saint.
