Coat of arms

[Matriz commune CoA] image by Klaus-Michael Schneider, 12 Oct 2014

The arms are Argent, three heraldic fountains of Azure and Argent ordered per fess, between a fleur-de-lis Azure in central chief and a bunch of grapes Purpure leaved green. Mural crown with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "BORBA - MATRIZ".
Meaning:
According to Sérgio Horta the fountains are alluding to "Fonte das Bicas", where the water comes out of three tubes. The lily is an attribute of Our Lady of the Snows, the local patron saint. The grapes are symbolizing the famous wines of Borba. The base colour of the shield is alluding the main business line of the community, the cutback of white marble. The arms were designed by Eduardo Lourenço Brito.
Source: I spotted this flag on 2 Oct 2013 in the commune's building of Matriz.

Flag and arms were adopted and published in Diário da República: III Série on 29 January 1998
