Shield Gules with base wavy of Argent and Azure, an embattled tower Argent masoned Sable charged with a Latin cross Azure, in chief a sinister facing nightingale Proper at dexter and a bee Or winged Argent at sinister. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE VILA E ROUSSAS".
Meaning:
Nightingale and bee are representing former Roussas commune, tower and base former Vila Commune.

Meaning:
The fleur-de-lis is an attribute of St. Mary of the Gate, the local patron saint.
