Coat of arms

Shield Gules with base wavy of Argent and Azure, a cogwheel Argent flanked by two grapevines Argent leaved Or, in central chief an orb Or. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "MAZEDO - MONÇÃO"
Meaning:
The orb is an attribute of Jesus Christ, being the local patron saint as Divine Saviour.

Mazedo Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Monção Municipality (q.v.); it had 1859 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 7.4 km².

Coat of arms

Shield Argent with base wavy of Azure and Argent, a fess Azure charged with four bezants, in chief a grapevine Purpure leaved Vert at dexter and a corn cob Or leaved Vert at sinister. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "CORTES - MONÇÃO".
Meaning:
The bezants as golden balls, normally just three of them, are an attribute of St. Nicolas, the local patron saint.
