About the Flag

It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of white and red.

Coat of arms

Shield Azure, a monument Argent fenced Sable, flanked by a saint at dexter and cross fleury Argent charged with a Greek cross Gules. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "VILA DE ARRIFANA".
Meaning:
The monument is the local monument of the Peninsular War. The saint probably is Our Lady of Assumption, the local patron saint. About the cross see Feira borough.
