Introduction

Ittihad [United] Football Club, aka Ittihad Jeddah or Al-Ittihad, was founded in 1929 in Jeddah. The oldest surviving football club in Saudi Arabia, Al-Ittihad won eight times the national Premier League and twice (2004 and 2005) the Asia Champions League. In the round of 16 of the 2011 Asia Champions League, Al-Ittihad defeated on 24 May 2011 another club from Saudi Arabia, Al-Hilal (3-1).
