The flag of Balçova (photo) is red with the municipality's emblem (with a blue background) in the middle. "Belediyesi" means "Municipality".
The emblem of the municipality features the İzmir Bay and the Balçova cablecar (photos). Established in 1974 by the municipality of Balçova, the cablecar offers a scenic view on the bay and the town. The cablecar is expected to be soon revamped; the 8-people cabins will need 2 minutes and 42 second to climb the hill, which would allow a flow of 1,200 passengers per hour (TeleferikHaber, 27 June 2015).
