Description of the Flag

Coweta County (115,291 inhabitants in 2005; 1,155 sq. km) is located in western Georgia. Founded in 1826, the county was named for the Kowetas Indians. The seat of a county is its largest town, Newnan.

Sarah Fay Campbell reports in the "Times-Herald", 30 July 2010, the reemergence of the flag of Coweta County, as follows.
"[...]
The design was approved a few years ago, and the flag will be unveiled at the ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the restored 1904 courthouse. The ribbon cutting is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 19, if restoration work stays on schedule at the historic building. The Coweta flag, along with the U.S. and Georgia flags, will fly at both the historic courthouse and at the Coweta County Justice Center.
[...]
The new county flag will be flown at the justice center after it is unveiled at the courthouse, said Patricia Palmer, Coweta's public affairs director. The flag features the well-known Coweta County seal [sporting an image of the 1904 courthouse], and the blue and gold colors will be the same tone as those used in the state flag.
