Description of the flag

Bay City is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan located near the base of the Saginaw Bay on Lake Huron. As of the 2000 census, the city's population was 36,817. The 2006 population estimate was 34,449. It is the county seat of Bay County. It is also the principal city of the Bay City Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Saginaw-Bay City-Saginaw Township North Combined Statistical Area. The city is geographically divided by the Saginaw River, and travel between the east and west sides of the city is made possible by four modern drawbridges which allow large ships to easily travel down the river. The city is served by MBS International Airport, located in nearby Freeland, and James Clements Municipal Airport.

The flag is described on city's website at www.baycitymi.org where it says "Flags are 3' x 5' nylon. Light blue background with new City Logo." That description fits to the upper left corner of the banner. Also, on the third photo of the same banner is shown former flag with the old logo.

The flag is light blue, with the words Bay City written in dark blue and gold, the state name below, and in the upper hoist a stylized scene of maroon building, a dark blue lamp post and gold sailing ship. The city logo is written below: "A beautiful view...of life" and "City of Bay City".
