In 1814, Norway was ceded from Denmark to Sweden. Entering in to a "personal union" Norway was allowed it's own constitution as well as a local parliament during the Swedish years. It was never formally integrated into Sweden. In 1905 Norway became an independent nation after its parliament voted to dissolve the union and a plebiscite of the people was nearly unanimous in affirming this act.

As numerous flags were related either in style or use, FOTW is presenting them in this presentation.
