Presentation of Orehovica

Orehovica is located a few km south-east of Čakovec, along river Drava river between Nedelišće and Prelog. Population is not more than 3,000, 1,700 in the village of the same name.
The municipality was created in 1997 by secession from Mala Subotica, located north of it.

Flag of Orehovica

The symbols of Orehovica were adopted in April 2002, as reported in the local newspapers Međimurje - županijske novine (Orah na grb i zastavu Orehovice, 4 June 2002) and Međimurske novine (Proslavljen Dan općine Orehovica, 5 June 2002).

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, light blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms (municipal website) is "Argent a walnut proper".
The arms are canting: orah, regionally oreh, means "a walnut".

The ceremonial flag is light blue with the coat of arms in the middle, the name of the municipality above and branches below ending in a triangular edge that is fringed.
